Book in advance about Tet holidays
Traditional Tet in Vietnam is an interesting experience with a lot of foreigners travelers, it would be difficult to get rooms in some hot attractions in Vietnam during Tet (such as Halong Bay, Hoian, Nha Trang, Danang Hanoi,etc.), especially high-quality ones, if you didn’t book in advance. Tet holiday means that the locals also have so much plenty time to travel through their country so please make sure to book rooms or tickets in advance.
Transportation
Transport is other matter to be concerned.. Without doubt, it is too quite difficult to plan your trip when air, trains and coach are mostly fully booked because a lot of people booked tickets to come home for family reunion. Reserve your airplane tickets and train tickets as soon as you can and expect holiday surcharge.
In Hoian, we visited a few traditional-style Chinese assembly halls. Inside, they were all hung with large coils of incense — coils that would be lit on New Year’s Day and take up to two weeks to finish burning. Hanging from each coil was a prayer, basically asking for good luck and good fortune for member in your family in the new year.
Be Aware of Pickpocketing
During Tet luna, place hosting events won't be packed with people which won't decrease the risk of being pick-pocketed. When joining of these activities, please bear in mind a great caution for your belongings. Always hold on tight to your bag, and wear your backpack to the front if possible. Moreover, you should avoid leaving valuable items in your pocket . It is recommended to keep your wallet or phone in your well-zipped bags all the time.
